FOR DIASTASIS REHABILITATION

For WOMEN

For MEN

For CHILDREN

  • Diastasis Rehab Belly Button Boogie™ DVD (coming soon)

It is never too late to close a diastasis and heal the connective tissue.  How long it takes depends on the severity of your diastasis and your commitment to all 4 steps of the programme.  We recommend initially following the foundation 6 week course – you will really see the healing effects on your body in this time.

Please note that the splint or any kind of abdominal binding is not suitable for those with a hiatal hernia.

FOR UMBILICAL HERNIA

The Tupler Technique® treats an umbilical hernia which is a side effect of the diastasis recti.  The Tupler Technique® can heal the umbilical hernia and turn your belly button from an “outie” to an “innie”.

Post Surgery

If you have already had surgery for an umbilical hernia, it is still a good idea to follow the Tupler Technique® because if the hernia has been repaired surgically without closing the diastasis recti, the hernia may reoccur.  Closing your diastasis recti with the Tupler Technique® programme  reduces the likelihood of the hernia reoccurring.

Please note that the splint or any kind of abdominal binding is not suitable for those with a hiatal hernia

PREPARATION FOR ABDOMINAL SURGERY

For those preparing for Abdominal Surgery

Just as force on connective tissue makes a diastasis larger, force on surgical stitches makes them come apart.  If you strengthen and re-train your abdominal muscles with the Tupler Technique® before surgery, you will have the muscle memory to use them correctly during the recovery process.  You will learn how to cough and sneeze, get in and out of bed, have a bowel movement and stand correctly so that the integrity of your stitches is maintained.

FOR PREGNANT WOMEN PLANNING A VAGINAL BIRTH

Pushing is a learned skill and should be practised during pregnancy so it becomes second nature in labour.  On this programme women learn how to strengthen the abdominal muscles and work them separately from the pelvic floor muscles even when they have had an epidural anaesthetic.  Splinting the abdominal muscles during labour keeps the uterus in the proper position to create a straight path for delivery.  The benefits of pushing correctly are:  faster and controlled delivery, your diastasis does not get larger and the pelvic floor muscles are not weakened.

FOLLOWING ABDOMINAL SURGERY

FOLLOWING RECENT CAESAREAN SECTION BIRTH

It is never too late to close a diastasis and heal the connective tissue.  How long it takes depends on the severity of your diastasis and your commitment to all 4 steps of the programme.  We recommend initially following the foundation 6 week course – you will really see the healing effects on your body in this time. You may start the exercises as soon as you wish after the birth but do not wear the splint until your GP has confirmed that your scar has healed.  This is usually after 6 weeks.

Please note that the splint or any kind of abdominal binding is not suitable for those with a hiatal hernia.

  • What other people are saying about the Tupler Technique®

"By continuing to do the Tupler Technique® exercises every day, your Mummy Tummy goes away and that aching back will disappear as well".
    Elle Macpherson (actress/model/businesswoman)

"Julie Tupler is an expert on diastasis recti".
    Dr. Oz (Oprah & Friends)

"The Tupler Technique® ...is great for maintaining the results of stomach surgery".
Dr Sharon Giese Plastic Surgeon (in New Beauty Magazine vol 4 issue 4 Fall/Winter 2008)

"I have just completed a 6 week workshop with Camilla. Although my "gap" hasn't closed completely yet, my stomach looks a huge amount better and stronger than it did at the start of the programme. I have had a diastasis recti for almost 3 years and have tried everything, including specialist physiotherapists, but this programme has produced by far the best results. I have been really impressed."
    Rebecca Holburn Wimbledon

"I wasn't convinced I would ever be able to have my tummy back to normal after my pregnancies without an operation until I came across Tummy Tribe and tried the
Tupler Technique®. The splint is so easy to wear and even with 3 small children I managed to fit in the exercises. Seeing improvements in under 2 weeks also spurred me on. I would recommend the Tupler Technique® to anyone."

    Rachel Durden-Smith Wandsworth

"I found the one to one session extremely useful and informative"
    Sigrid Aruliah Surrey
